Applying firewall rules and filters for a FiveM game server

In this article we will be discussing a quick and simple method of securing and setting up your firewall to whitelist and protect your Minecraft: Java Edition game-server. Please direct yourself to your filtering/firewall portal and login with the credentials you were providing during onboarding.

Ports & Filters

You'll need to open the following ports for a default FiveM installation

Game Ports (port - protocol - filter)

- 30120 - udp - FiveM Server Queries & GTA V Multiplayer Server

- 30120 - tcp - GTA V Multiplayer Server

TXAdmin Ports (port - protocol - filter)

- 40120 - tcp

To increase security on the TXAdmin port we'd recommend restricting access to the port to only the client's requested source IPs as well as adding the Path WAF for additional protection.

Keep in mind some services can require additional ports.
